Billy Bob's Texas- The World's Largest Honky Tonk

Line Dancing. When JT and I hear those words we know we're going to have a good time. And even if we don't know how it goes, we at least know we have a good 52 or so times during the song to pick up on it.
One of our friends, Jenny, had a birthday last week, so we decided to all go to Billy Bob's in Fort Worth to celebrate. What a better way to initiate our "transplant selves" into the Texas culture than a good 'ole Honky Tonk? We found out they teach lessons every Sunday night, which is why Sunday was the day of choice for our group. After a good hour in the car and arriving in the busting metropolis of Fort Worth, we arrived at Billy Bob's to literally discover the largest Honky Tonk in the world. We couldn't believe how big it was. As you walk in through the doors, you're greeted on each side of the hallway by hand prints in cement plaques of famous country music stars who have all had the pleasure of playing at Billy Bob's in their career. You could probably say this is where they got there start... well, maybe not literally, but you get the picture.
As JT and I are paying our dues and signing up for "lessons", the teacher comes over the speakers and announces, "Welcome to Billy Bob's. We're happy to have y'all here for the Intermediate Three Step dance class".... This is where JT and I look at each other and say, "What have we gotten ourselves into?" Well, at least we had 12 other friends who didn't know what they were doing either. We all thought we were there for an hour of lessons on "Country Line Dancing for Beginners". Man, were we mistaken.
Once the teachers saw that a large majority of the class (our group) had no idea where to begin, they took it easy on us and started from the beginning. Luckily we all caught on fairly quickly and before you know it, we were all dancing fools on the dance floor. We had so much fun!
After dancing, we ate dinner there (which was absolutely some of the best barbeque we've ever had) and celebrated Jenny's birthday with a yummy cookie cake.
Our Group
All in all we had a great time with friends and really look forward to putting our new learned moves into action when we go to Kathy & Richard's wedding next weekend. I know there will be country, and yes, I'll make my husband dance.
